I hate going swimming and then coming home and smelling nothing but chlorine.

I have two younger brothers. The closer of the two is named Ben, and we used to fight all the time. He used to just push all my buttons, and I basically always reacted in the way he wanted by blowing up on him. 

The shinning beacon that our family used against us when we acted up was the relationship between my Dad and his brother, who always got along and seemed to love spending time bonding together. “Why can’t you guys get along like they do?”, was something I heard incessantly through the years.

Eventually though, we both matured. I grew some tougher skin and learned to ignore my brother’s little jabs, and I generally just learned to accept my brother’s faults. Sometimes his massive ego brings out the worst in him still, but those times occur few and far between. Outside of that, the two of us do get along very well at this point despite being two completely different people. 

Why right now you ask? Why at 5:45 AM? I’m not sure. Maybe the lack of sleep is getting to me. Maybe the thoughts in my head, breeding feelings of loneliness and longing, are the reason.

Maybe it just sounds nice to me though, and that’s all. A warm thought that feels comforting as I try to clear my mind and finally get some rest.
